With the start of school, I feel like I got a little opportunity to reset. That being said, I’ve been trying hard to focus on being active and getting in at least 30 minutes of movement a day. Maybe it’s because I’m a teacher, but September always feels like a fresh start. I urge you to get outside before the cold cold weather hits and get some fresh air! Below are some of the things I’ve been relying on the past few weeks to get my energy up.
Early Morning Virtual Classes
I’m not the biggest fan of working out while looking at a screen, but I find that if I get myself out of bed early enough and get going, I don’t really think about it. Plus, a virtual class means I can do things at my own pace and really listen to my body and how I feel. I recently subscribed to Mend on Patreon and I have been alternating their Sculpt, Power Vinyasa, and Chill Vinyasa Classes.
I love working out outside and we have a great, long trail in town that is perfect for bike riding. It’s in the woods so it’s cool and shaded and a pretty decent workout- 4 miles down and 4 miles back. It’s also a great activity to do with other people.
The White Mountains are definitely calling. Ryan and I haven’t been able to get out on the trails lately due to house tasks and guests but we want to hike! Fall is the perfect time because the weather is beautiful and the crowds are gone. Since we’re so close, we really want to take advantage.
I can’t even tell you how many trees we’ve cut, cleared, chipped, and moved since we’ve lived in our New Hampshire home. Outdoor work is hard but it’s also a great workout without even thinking about it. We’re going to keep trucking along until winter so this ones not going anywhere, and while it isn’t always my favorite, it does have some great results.
