Book 28: A Girl Named Anna

One of my goals for 2020 is to read more. What better way than to commit to reading one book a week? 52 books in 52 weeks and I’ll be sharing every single one on the blog, every Sunday. Check in for my latest reads and recommendations.

Man, I have such mixed feelings about this story. A Girl Named Anna certainly keeps you on the edge of your seat. As the audience, you figure out the twist early and then watch as the main characters uncovers all the evidence themselves. You’re scared for them, frustrated for them, and you can’t put the book down until there is justice!

I didn’t love the ending, however. There was one section that got a little too dark and twisty (even for me) and then I felt like everything moved way too fast and wrapped up way too nicely (sorry if that spoils anything for you!) The story felt like the longest build up of a rollercoaster for a drop lasting two seconds. Kind of disappointing, if I’m being honest.

This is definitely a book to get lost in. If, like me, you need something to keep you entertained while you do yard work or paint your guest room (I am fully on the audio book train now) then I do recommend this read. Even if the ending isn’t fabulous, I feel like the story up til then is good enough to get you through.
