I always thought it was a college thing that April flew by but holy moly, is it really May already? I blame what feels like a lost month on ‘spring excitement’ and have my mind set on making a conscious effort to slow down over the next few weeks. Although, looking at my calendar, my inner monologue is chiming in with a ha, yeah right.
We’ve made it to our last two months of school and it’s almost been exactly a year since I graduated college. I’m typing this at my boyfriend’s apartment which recently became our apartment. Spring has brought change, as it always does, and things feel good. Quite frequently I match my music to my mood and these days, when I get in the car, I roll my windows down and put on a new playlist.
The first song is my favorite. My sister and I saw Better Oblivion Community Center last month (second row!) and I think their music is outstanding. This recently released track just makes me want to dance. Follow that with a new song from Sara Bareilles and a great melody by Wild Rivers. The Lumineers released a great track called “Gloria” and I get chills every time I hear Brandi Carlisle sing “The Mother.” There’s a bit of new music from Springsteen and a great beat from The Lone Bellow who nearly broke the speakers at the Newport Folk Festival last year. I hope you find a new favorite track among the many great artists collected in this playlist. Let me know who is your favorite!
