Raise your hand if the only thing you want to wear in the summer is a dress. I truly can’t imagine that this applies to just me. As soon as the temperature passes 70 and the humidity goes from manageable to oh god, help us all I’m ready to ditch every pair of pants I own. Light, one and done pieces in cottons and linens are my go-to.
I love this striped shift dress I recently picked up from Talbots. The fabric is light yet durable and the silhouette is incredibly flattering. Plus, it has this super fun fringe detail on the sleeves which is totally on trend at the moment.
Something I’ve been struggling with when buying dresses lately, however, is length. Thankfully, this dress hits just at the knees, which makes movement and activity a breeze. I love being able to run around and bend over, without worrying about showing off a little too much. Also, I can wear it in the classroom and look totally appropriate while staying casual and comfortable.
The perfect pairing with this striped shift dress is a pair of white sneakers. My favorite are from converse, white leather, which I have had for a few years now. They hold up great and are much tougher to stain than the traditional canvas ones. Plus, they’re extra chic, reasonably priced, and incredibly comfortable.
Now it’s your time to share- what’s your go to summer look?
