Gingham Prints and Strawberry Fields
Gingham Prints and Strawberry Fields | Quonset View Farm
Strawberry picking is one of my favorite summer activities; you get to spend some quality time outside and walk away with fresh produce you’ve chosen yourself. There’s something immensely comforting about knowing exactly where your food came from, as well as supporting local farms and businesses. My favorite spot for strawberry picking is Quonset View Farm. It has huge fields and incredibly reasonable prices. I’m pretty sure I payed $4 for a quart of strawberries, which is a STEAL compared to what they’re normally priced at, at the grocery store. Furthermore, shopping local allows you to lessen your carbon footprint, if only a little. I have to say that saving the world (or at least doing your part) is pretty tasty!
When my sister and I went out the other day, I wore this adorable ruffled, gingham print dress from Jcrew. I absolutely love the silhouette, color, and ruffled detail. Unfortunately, this style is sold out online at the moment. However, there are TONS of gingham printed styles out in the online shopping world. Gingham is definitely a big trend we’ll be seeing this summer. Two dresses I’ve got my eye on can be found here and here. Also I am in love with this jumpsuit, even though it is a bit out of my budget at the moment.
Dresses are the easiest thing to have in your closet for summer, and gingham prints just make them so much more fun. It’s so nice to just pull one out, throw it on, and feel put together. I’ll definitely be reaching for them more frequently, especially as the it gets warmer. We haven’t had consistent “summer weather yet, but when it does reach eighty degrees, all I want to do is sit around in a bathing suit. However, going out and doing little things like strawberry picking lets me utilize some of my favorite pieces in my summer wardrobe (which isn’t very extensive: I work at a summer camp where my uniform is gym shorts and cotton t-shirts). What are your favorite things to do in the summer?
