Cold Weather Denim
The leaves are gold and burnt orange, there’s a chill in the air, and I think New England has finally transitioned into my favorite season of all. There’s nothing like relaxing on a fall day, sitting outside while squirrels run from tree to tree and leaves fall. I almost didn’t believe we’d make it to this point, seeing as last week the temperature was recorded 15 to 20 degrees higher than the normal average, but we have and I for one am breathing a sigh of relief- and pulling out my winter clothes.
I think I’ve worn these denim overalls at least once a week for the past month and a half. I’m actually wearing them now, as I write this post. They are unbelievably comfortable, and the rips give them an incredibly relaxed feel. My dad thinks he’s hilarious: “Did you know you’ve got holes in your pants?” he asks. I get where he’s coming from, but for some reason, whenever I’m looking for casual, everyday denim, I tend to gravitate towards ripped jeans.
Wearing these overalls with a turtleneck makes them highly weather appropriate. Turtlenecks are one of my favorite fall/winter pieces because they are so warm and cozy. They create an incredibly classic look and fit in with any wardrobe!
To finish off my outfit, I wore these black leather oxfords. They have gold details and cutouts that make them so unique! To transition them into even colder weather, I just throw black socks on underneath! No one can even tell, and my feet don’t freeze.
I can’t believe that it’s already November, and that there are only two more weeks until it’s Thanksgiving Week. Thanksgiving is by far one of my favorite holidays. My family will be heading up to New York, so expect plenty of content, coming soon. Until then, let me know what you’re looking forward to as the holidays get closer – and if your first thought is ‘food’ then we should definitely be friends.
